    Selena Gomez commented on her friend Demi Lovato in a short interview. Gomez said that Lovato was doing well. That's all she said, but it spoke volumes.

    By now you know that Lovato has returned to work. Exactly what she is working on is still unknown at this time, but whatever it is, Demi is excited about it.

    Gomez confirmed what we had all assumed, that Lovato was doing well and making great progress since she left rehab.

    It is good to know that Lovato is back on track and getting back to work. When a person leaves rehab it is important that they get back into the swing of things and resume their normal life as soon as they are able, while obviously avoiding the things that caused them to enter rehab in the first place.

    Gomez's comments would lead us to believe that Lovato is handling her return to work very well and gives you reason to believe that she didn't rush or was pressured back to work by Disney or Hollywood Records. It is important that Demi does only what she can handle at this time. There was talk that at least some of her problems stemmed from her being overworked. It would be to her benefit to avoid taking on too much too soon.

Demi Lovato Returns Back To Work

    Following her stay in rehab for "emotional and physical issues" last year, Demi Lovato has announced that she has returned to work.

    Having remained out of the limelight since she came out of the treatment facility earlier this year, the star wrote on her newly re-activated Twitter account:

    "First day back to working.. I can't wait to share with you guys what I'm doing today.. It's a big day for me.. So excited! I love you all!!! (sic)."

    The star sought treatment in November when she reportedly attacked a backing dancer whilst on tour with the Jonas Brothers.

    Although Demi has returned to work, it is not known what project she is working on.

    We're glad to hear Demi's back to work, we can't wait to see or hear what she comes up with next!

    Selena Gomez will perform Aug. 10 at DTE Energy Music Theater, the singer's label announced today.

    Ticket information, including prices and on-sale date, is TBA.

    This summer, the singer/actress — who has recently made headlines for being Justin Bieber's girlfriend — will release her third album in three years with her band, the Scene.

    The DTE date falls in the middle of Gomez's 27-date tour, which kicks off July 24 in Costa Mesa, Calif.

    Demi Lovato has won a new batch of awards! Demi won 3 Flecking Awards recently, which will help fill her home with more shiny items to remind her of her huge fame. She won for “Best Female Tweeter”, “Best Female Musician”, and for “Most Shocking Story”.

    At least 2 of those awards are good, but she seems to be growing in popularity as of late. This makes me so happy for her, I think she has earned it all the way. I hope she can stay on this path for even more mega success at whatever she chooses to do.

    Are you happy for Demi winning all of these awards? Do you think her seeking help has even boosted her career? Some might say that it has, but she seemed to be doing well before it happened. So that really makes it tough to say, but either way you can say some good has come out of it for Demi.

Disney Channel stars give healthy-eating advice

    During the recent Disney Social Media Moms conference, participants were invited to a day of events tied to the company’s Magic of Healthy Living initiative. On Saturday morning, Disney Channel actors and 50 essay winners participated in a TRYathlon, a course around World Showplace in Epcot where kids tried “new foods and new moves, new ways to live healthy.” Later in the day, some of the participants answered questions from the bloggers. Here is a sample:

    How do you celebrate your birthday while living a healthy life?

    Alyson Stoner (Phineas and Ferb, Camp Rock 2): Balance is key. I don’t necessarily neglect something sweet and delicious. Cake is an important part of a healthy diet – in moderate portions. Setting up rules and regulations brings shame and condemnation and guilt, and that’s not what healthy living is. Healthy living is freedom and taking the initiative to make proper choices. That’s what this campaign is all about. It’s inspiring individuals to meet their own individual needs.

    High school students say they don’t have time to eat healthy. What recommendations do you have?

    Jennifer Stone (Wizards of Waverly Place): I’m always busy. I’m a big fan of cooking all your meals for the week on Sunday and then using good old Tupperware. Stick it in the fridge and take a sack lunch to work. Other than that, you have to make choices with what you have available. You do the best you can.

    Daniel Curtis Lee (Zeke and Luther): Fruits and vegetables — since they’re raw — you just pick them up, put them in your face and you’re good.

    Does this initiative work with schools, too, to improve the quality of food served in cafeterias?

    Chef Gary Jones (Disney dietary specialist): Chefs Move to Schools — The Central Florida area is one of the pioneers in that movement. I partner with Oak Ridge High School. I’m working to try to change some of the food. … It’s a tough market because schools don’t typically have a lot of money these days. What if kids only had one thing to eat at school each day and it was absolutely fantastic? Would we go for that, or do you need the 10 or 15 different choices they have now?

    How can we get our kids involved in growing our gardens at home so they don’t see it as a chore but something really fun?

    Katie Stagliano (recipient of Friends For Change grant): Once you start gardening, you see how much fun it is. It encourages kids to eat fresh vegetables. Themed gardens, such as pizza gardens or one for cole slaw, are great, too.

    How do busy parents tweak recipes to make them healthy, quick and nutritious?

    Chef Gary: You can buy fruits and vegetables already cut in the grocery store. You don’t need to buy pounds of it — just what you need — and then it becomes very quick to put recipes together. Spend two hours on the weekend planning and preparing.

    Daniel Curtis Lee: When you decide you want to do it, it just becomes easier. I found myself saying it was too hard because there was a blockage in my brain, I didn’t really want to make the move.

    Katie: Use what’s growing in your garden to inspire you.

    What do you do to stay healthy and fit through your movement?

    Barrett Ruud (Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker): That’s kind of my job. For me, even in the off-season, I do have a couple months that I have to be creative. I do yoga. It really does make me feel better. Also, me and my brother play racquetball. I have to be doing something. I’m not very good at running on a treadmill and staring at a TV. I have to be doing something that occupies my mind.

    To the essay winners, what was your favorite part of the event today and what was the biggest lesson you’ve taken away from this weekend?

    Morgan Brown (from Dallas area): My favorite part was meeting these amazing stars. And I learned that what we ate was actually healthy.

    Karisa Brake (from Chicago area): My favorite part was making new friends, meeting new people and learning new ways to be healthy.

Justin Bieber, Rihanna and U2 release album in aid of Japan

    With scenes of devastation after the earthquake in Japan still fresh in the public mind, pop wonder kid Justin Bieber and Irish dad rockers U2 are listed among the banner name artists who have vowed to record a new album to raise money for massive relief effort there.

    The good news is that all of the world famous singers are acting quickly. Sources at Universal Music announced on Tuesday that they hope to release a digital-only charity album globally by the end of this week.

    All proceeds from the fund raising album will got to the Japanese Red Cross, a spokesperson for Universal Music told the press on Monday.

    "Japan needs our help. We all need to step up," Bieber wrote on his Twitter account, regarding his own involvement with the new charity album.

    Other pop stars scheduled to participate in the new album include Rihanna, Bon Jovi and rapper Nicki Minaj.

    Rumors suggest that Lady Gaga may also appear on the album, with futher pop royalty to be announced.

    Last week Gaga created her own "We Pray for Japan" rubber wrist bands to sell to her fans on her website in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, raising $250,000 within the first two days of sales, with all proceeds going to relief efforts.

Taylor Swift's Lorax Movie Due in March 2012

    Taylor Swift's second feature film, Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, will be released on March 2, 2012, the anniversary of the author's birth date. Produced by Universal and Illumination Entertainment, the CGI-animated adaptation is based on Seuss' famous tale about taking care of the environment. Swift will voice the character of Audrey, a girl who has attracted the attention of an idealistic boy (voiced by Zac Efron). Other cast members include Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Rob Riggle and Betty White. Seuss' widow, Audrey Geisel, will serve as executive producer of the film. Selena Gomez "excited" about summer tour

    Selena Gomez has revealed her excitement at headlining a summer tour.

    The Wizards of Waverly Place actress has announced that she will take to the road with The Scene for a series of dates across the US from July to September.

    "Cannot explain how excited I am to finally be putting on a full tour for all of you," she wrote on her official Facebook account. "I cannot wait to see you out on the road!"

    The 18-year-old added: "This summer is going to be amazing, putting together a great show for you guys."

    It has also been confirmed that she will be supported by Allstar Weekend, who revealed their own excitement at the plans on their Twitter account.

    Gomez previously teased during an appearance on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show that fans can expect to see a Britney Spears tribute during the shows, adding: "I want it to be a like a big rave - a G-rated rave! I want it to feel like a party. I'm going to do different covers and I just want it to be really fun."
