The town of Garner is doing everything it can to capitalize on the rising popularity of Garner native and 2011 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery.
The town has printed a visitors map listing eight points of interest for Scotty fans coming to town, including Garner Magnet High School where McCreery attended classes, the Lowes Foods grocery store on Aversboro Road where the lad used to work, and Lake Benson Park where his filmed homecoming was held.
