Justin Bieber Crashes His Ferrari

Just days after snagging honors at the MTV Video Music Awards for best male video, Justin Bieber hit a slight bump in the road.



The pop star, 17, walked away unharmed after he was involved in a minor fender bender in his Ferrari Tuesday afternoon in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.
"No one was injured, and there was no damage to either vehicle," a statement from the LAPD says.
An LAPD official says Bieber was driving through Studio City when the driver of a Honda Civic crashed into his Ferrari, which he says sustained some minor damage.
"There was no crime, and it was just a minor accident," patrol officer John Seffel told news agencies.
"It was so minor, so we didn't file a report."
When police arrived, the paparazzi was at the scene, although it was not known whether the vehicle that hit Bieber's belonged to a photographer.

Demi Lovato too heavy? How skewed is our ideal?

Apparently people on Twitter have been critical of 19-year-old Demi Lovato and the way she looked at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday. She looks like she’s put on weight, the say. I hope so, since she had an eating disorder before.

So I asked my girls about how they thought Demi looked the other night. At first, they said like Snooki, but they were talking more about Demi’s tan than her weight. Then I asked specifically: People are saying she looked like she’s getting kind of fat. Do you think so?

My older daughter said, “Well, she did look a little bigger.” I told her about the eating disorder and that her being bigger meant she was feeling better.

This is just another example of how skewed our vision of beauty is in this country. And now my daughter — at least in this case — is buying into it.

Bieber punks Taylor Swift in debut as resurrected show’s host

The second coming of Punk’d is upon us, the New York Post reports — and filming has already begun on MTV’s new age of celebrity harassment. While former host Ashton Kutcher is serving as executive producer, Justin Bieber is taking a turn as host and resident prankster. The Post reports the 17-year-old was taped “punking” fellow pop star Taylor Swift for an upcoming episode.
No details have been revealed about the prank Bieber inflicted on poor, unsuspecting Swift. Punk’d, which debuted in 2003, was shelved in 2007 because, as the Post notes, it became “difficult for Kutcher to find stars to fool.”

Before her appearance at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, Selena Gomez sat down for an interview with a Canadian TV show - and ended up showing off her rapping skills.
The actress-singer had the "New Music Live" audience join her in reciting the first verse of Nicki Minaj's hit "Super Bass."
This isn't the first time the 19-year-old has shown her affinity for the song. Earlier this year, she lip-synched the song in a video posted on her YouTube page. And fellow singer Taylor Swift recited a few lines from "Super Bass" while appearing on a radio show back in February.

Selena Gomez delivers unmemorable show at the Fox

Disney star Selena Gomez may be cute as a button and boast a sweet personality, but that doesn't make her ready for her own headlining gig.
That seemed clear Monday night when Selena Gomez & the Scene brought its "We Own the Night" tour to a sold-out Fox Theatre full of tween girls.
Gomez, fresh from an appearance at the VMAs Monday night with her main squeeze Justin Bieber, rose up onto the Fox stage wearing a sequined dress that looked like it was inspired by classic Ann-Margret. Surrounded by three video screens of various shapes and sizes that hovered above, the star of the Emmy-winning "Wizards of Waverly Place" delivered 100 minutes of innocuous and unmemorable pop dance tunes.
Not that anyone over the age of 13 expected anything more.
Gomez, who only has a slight presence and voice to match, pointed out she was performing "with" her fans as opposed to "for" them. That distinction wasn't entirely clear as she made her way through frothy ditties such as "Hit the Lights," "A Year Without Rain," "Summer's Not Hot," "Round and Round," "My Dilemma" and "I Love You Like a Love Song."
The reggae-tinged "Spotlight," performed largely in the dark, came with a rap interlude from Gomez, who was surrounded by dancers shining handheld spotlights on her. It wasn't the only hip hop-inspired bit of the night. Her dancers were introduced to the tune of Lil Wayne's "6 Foot 7 Foot."
A burst of confetti, greeted by cheers, accompanied "Bang Bang Bang."
Much of the performance felt like a low-key version of Britney Spears, which was appropriate. During a taped segment, Gomez said her first concert was a Spears show and she was the little girl in the back.
With that, she honored Spears with a medley of hits including "Toxic," "I'm a Slave 4 U," "(You Drive Me) Crazy" and "Oops!...I Did It Again."
The Spears tribute was followed with "Whiplash," a song that sounded as if it was ripped directly from Spears' catalog.
Fellow Disney act Allstar Weekend fared better in its opening set. The catchy boy band, releasing its "All the Way" album this fall, performed songs such as "Blame It On September," "Do It to Me," and "A Different Side of Me," on which the band dreams of being famous.
Mixing it up, the band also threw in a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark," which may have appealed more to the parents in the house than the fans, who instead were all over Allstar Weekend's take on Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"

Scotty McCreery Shocked by Long Island Beach

‘American Idol’ winner and North Carolina boy Scotty McCreery was the victim of a rude awakening while visitng the New York City tri-state area today. The ‘I Love You This Big’ singer visited Long Beach in Long Island, N.Y. and was completely and utterly shocked at having to pay to use one of nature’s facilities! He demonstrated his country boy way of thinking with his tweets about the matter, especially when he showed his local pride and stated his preference for the Outer Banks beaches in his home state.
He tweeted: “chillin at Long Beach, Long Island and you have to pay to go on the beach? I ain’t never heard of such.. #criminal”
In addition to being miffed about shelling over cash for a beach tag, he lamented: “and the beach ain’t even nice. tractors going over the sand, planes flying over head makin noise, no waves. OuterBanks, NC > Long Beach … just think if they made Christopher Columbus pay to pull up at the beach.. what if he didn’t have his wallet on him like me?”
McCreery, who also rang the closing bell on the NASDAQ floor while in the area, has made his thoughts and feelings about pay-to-use beaches clear, and can’t say we blame him! Beaches, like hugs, should be free to all who want to enjoy them.

Taylor Swift buys parents $2.5m Nashville mansion

She is probably the most generous daughter in the world.

Just four months after shelling out $1.4million on a new home for her parents Taylor Swift has dished out a further $2.5million on a new mansion.

The country singer, aged just 21-years-old has bought the prime piece of real estate in a very exclusive area in Nashville.



Her parents Andrea Gardner and Scott Kingsley Swift will be the newest residents in the area and will become neighbours to the likes of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.

The sprawling abode boasts more than 5,600 square feet of luxury living set in nearly six acres of lush landscaped hillside.

The home also boasts a spacious pool house which covers 2,000 square feet, state of the art appliances with a luxury finish.

The historic Northumberland Estate was built in 1934 by U.S. ambassador to Denmark Guilford Dudley Jr. and the property was previously owned by Universal Music Group chairman Luke Lewis, According to On The Red Carpet.com

But given her hefty earning power the mansion certainly wont make a dent in her bank balance as Forbes listed her as 2011’s 7th most powerful celebrity with earnings of $45million.

Still the generous gesture from Taylor comes just months after she dropped nearly one and a half million dollars on a home for Andrea and Scott in April.

Despite her young years Miss Swift is building quite the prime property portfolio and has homes in L.A. and another property in the Nashville area.

And Taylor isn’t just generous with her family and last week the singer treated her back up singers and dancers to a three-day trip to Charleston in South Carolina.

Taking a break from her hectic tour schedule, she has been hitting the stage all over the world since February, Taylor and her friends enjoyed a few peaceful days by the beach make the most of the sun, sea and sand.





In the fun and chic black and white shots, Taylor and her friends spend time at the beach and aboard a yacht in the historic and upmarket seaside community.



One of the shots shows the singer, surrounded by the girls, lounging on the back seating area of a boat which they rented for the day.



The girls all then posed for a series of fun group shots as the yacht cruised the shoreline.

Taylor showed off her long and lean figure in a cute vintage mini dress which she paired with a spotted headscarf and retro sunglasses for the outing





To accompany the pictures, Taylor wrote a friendly blog post to her fans explaining why she took the trip and why she decided to share the pictures.



'Here are two things you may already/might not know about me,' the singer wrote.



'One is that I make lists. Lists of music I love, lists of life goals (I've done that since I was eight years old), lists of things I need to get done this week, and… Lists of places I've always dreamed of going.'



'Thanks to you all and your wonderful niceness, I've gotten to see most of the places on my list on tour.'

We've been on the Speak Now Tour since February, and it occurred to me a few weeks ago that it would be so incredible to take a mini-vacation!'



'I found a three day window in August and invited all the girls you see onstage (one fiddle player, one backup singer, two dancers, three aerialists) to go with me to one of the places on my list (this particular place was underlined, with stars drawn next to it, indicating that I reeeeally wanted to go there): Charleston, South Carolina,' Taylor revealed.

Which brings me to the second thing you might not know about me: I'm a girl of many phases,' she added.

'Sometimes I work out, sometimes I don't, sometimes I listen to music constantly, sometimes I become obsessed with a piece of advice I'm given, sometimes I want to do nothing but watch Friends marathons, sometimes I write in my journal every night, then I'll skip a month.'



'And sometimes I take lots of pictures of what's going on in my life. For these three days, that's what I did.'



'And because your niceness is why I get to take vacations, I thought I'd share them with you.'



This singer is now in Los Angeles where she is continuing her tour with four concerts in the West Coast city.



On Sunday night she will miss the MTV Video Music Awards due to her final Los Angeles date despite the fact she has been nominated for Best Video With A Message for her song Mean.



The US leg of the tour continues through the end of November before she heads down to Australia and New Zealand in March.

Lauren Alaina Sings With Connection

There are no words to describe how thoroughly I love this song "Like My Mother Does." I love it as a mother, as a country fan and as a Lauren Alaina fan. And as a daughter, even though my own mother passed away a few years ago. Getting to see some behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot out in California makes me love the tune that much more. Because knowing that director Shaun Silva went through about 12 hours of the Alaina family's home movies so he could project a few of them throughout this video shows me how much he cares about the artsy side of crafting imagery that is as emotional as lyrics. Lyrics like. "When I'm weak and unpretty/I know I'm beautiful and strong/Because I see myself/Like my mother does." Words that are at once tender and powerful. Even Alaina admits it was emotional to look through the photo album of her real life. And even tougher, she says, "After I was looking through the pictures, I had to roll over and sing on my back and look up, and it was real awkward." But in the final video, you see a rookie who doesn't sound like a rookie at all. And you see what Silva means when he says, "She sings with so much connection."

A few facts about the last season of “American Idol” and this year’s tour:

•Scotty McCreery, of Garner, N.C., was 17 years, 7 months old when he was crowned this year’s “American Idol” on May 25. That makes him the second-youngest winner ever (behind Jordin Sparks, who was when she won in Season 6) and the youngest male winner.

•Lauren Alaina, of Rossville, Ga., was 16 years, 6 months old when she was named runner-up, making her and McCreery the youngest top-two pairing ever.

•This was the first year that 15-year-olds could audition for “American Idol,” and Thia Megia, who placed a joint 10th-11th with Naima Adedapo, was 15 when she tried out. She had already been on “America’s Got Talent.”

•Idol contestants have been allowed to play instruments on the show for a few years, but Casey Abrams pushed the envelope by playing melodica and double bass. He was saved by the judges when he was the lowest vote-getter in the top 11; thus, this will be the first year that 11 singers, rather than the usual 10, have hit the road.

•This season of “American Idol” saw changes at the judges’ table, as legendary “mean” judge Simon Cowell departed, along with fellow judges Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi. They were replaced by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. And Ray Chew replaced Rickey Minor as musical director.

•This season, the 10th, started slowly, but ended up posting bigger audience numbers than Season 9. “Idol” has been the most-watched show on television for seven years running, but its viewership had been declining for four years.

•If you liked the judging for Season 10, you should feel right at home when “American Idol” launches its new season on Jan. 22. Tyler, Jackson and Lopez have all resigned with the program, along with host Ryan Seacrest.

Scotty McCreery's 'Clear as Day' Album to Include a Keith Urban Track

Scotty McCreery will make his country music debut on October 4 with ‘Clear as Day,’ the much-anticipated album that’s home to his first single ever, ‘I Love You This Big,’ as well as a slew of unheard originals. In a new interview, however, the ‘American Idol’ winner spilled that one song, which he got from Keith Urban, may feature Urban’s guitar skills.

“It’s going to be all originals,” McCreery told the Boston Globe, clarifying that, “There’s technically going to be one cover. Keith Urban pitched a song my way, and it’s one he did way back when he was part of the band called the Ranch. He’s on tour right now so we don’t know, but he said he might play guitar on the track.”

That’s great news for Urban fans, and if the ‘Without You’ hitmaker lends a hand, the album’s success will reach even further — not that McCreery needs the help. The aspiring star expressed that he’s staying true to his roots on his first album, and that fans can expect a classic country vibe rather than a more modernized sound. “We’ve got the rocker songs, the uptempo stuff,” McCreery revealed. “But when we slow it down, the songs get more intimate, and you can definitely hear some of the more classic elements.”

He added, “It’s not going to be poppy. That’s one thing we stayed away from. I grew up with the old-school stuff, so I didn’t want to completely stray from that.”

David Dowling Arrested for Stealing a Cardboard Cutout of Justin Bieber

A case of Bieber Fever has landed David Dowling in jail.
The 23-year old Florida native was arrested yesterday after he tried to steal a life-sized cardboard cutout of Justin Bieber from a department store.
According the Manatee County Sheriff's Department report, Dowling walked into an F.Y.E. store with a friend and simply swiped the item, which is valued at $34.99. He tried to make a run for it through a local Sears, but was caught on security camera and tracked down by the F.Y.E assistant manager.
Dowling was arrested on charges of petty theft and giving a false name while lawfully detained. He remains behind bars in lieu of $120 bond, but has released the following statement:
"We were just having fun holding Justin Bieber hostage."

Lauren Alaina's 'Wildflower' due Oct. 11

Lauren Alaina's debut album, Wildflower, is scheduled to come out Oct. 11, one week after Scotty McCreery's Clear As Day.
"I have always dreamed of making an album, and I can't believe it's actually happening," the 16-year-old American Idol runner-up said in a press release about the album. "I feel like it has a flavor for everybody. It's a mixture of all different songs, so I hope it will appeal to all different kinds of people. There are fast songs for people who like up-tempos that you can dance to, and there are also tearjerkers for people who like slower ballads. I tried to get songs that are all a little different so that we could bring a fresh feel to each and every song."
The album takes its title from the track She's a Wildflower, written by Hillary Lindsey, Steven McEwan and Gordie Sampson. "Wildflower is the perfect name for my first album," she says. "I would consider myself a wildflower because wildflowers are sweet, but then they have a little bit of spunk to them. ... "I like to have a lot of fun and I'm really sassy, so I feel like a wildflower would be a good description of who I am as a person."
Lauren has been working in the studio with Byron Gallimore, who has produced the likes of Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Lee Ann Womack.

You're not 21 yet! Bedraggled birthday girl Demi Lovato goes on a beer run with friends in Los Angeles





Demi Lovato only turned 19 today, so what was the underage singer doing on a 2 am beer run?

The recently rehabbed starlet was photographed at a Los Angeles 7-11 just before 2am this morning where the mystery man she arrived with purchased a 12-pack of Miller Lite beer.

'Demi and her friend made sure to get in there right before the alcohol cut-off time,' a source tells the MailOnline.

'He paid, but they were definitely together. They got into the same car and he drove to Demi's house with the beer for an afterparty.'



Her mystery man was sported tattoos with a rocker-boy style of chains, black jeans and a V-necked T-shirt.





Leaving her actual birthday party at LA's Pinz bowling alley en route to the convenience store, the brunette beauty looked a bit worse for the wear.

Her black lace bra was clearly visible in several places through her orange tank top. Huge cross earrings and a black vest completed her messy outfit.



Her denim shorts were askew and she weirdly rubbed a signed bowling pin against her face as she left the venue.



The Skyscraper singer's dark hair was also tucked back in a sloppy ponytail and frizzy around her face.



She recently opened up about her reasons for entering a rehab facility for 'emotional and physical' issues last November.

She did not seek treatment for alcohol-related issues, but for self-harming, multiple eating disorders and bipolar disorder.



The Sonny With A Chance star knew she needed help after she punched Alex Welch in the face while on tour with The Jonas Brothers.



Although many think her rehab visit was because ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas had dumped her and then brought new girlfriend Ashley Greene (they've since split) on tour, she maintains that this wasn't the case.



'I wouldn't credit my meltdown to a guy. There was so much other stuff in my life,' she says in the new issue of America's Elle magazine.

She reveales that she had been bullied over her weight as a child and began cutting herself as a result of her depression.

Demi left the Michigan facility in January and, after quitting her Disney show, began to focus on her music.

People magazine reports Bieber made $53 million last year, followed by Miley Cyrus, Taylor Lautner and others.



Justin Bieber had a very good year. Seriously, like a major one that rivals most corporate CEOs'. According to a People magazine ranking of the top-earning teen actors and musicians, Bieber, 17, raked in $53 million in 2010.
Most of that cash came from his smash movie, "Never Say Never," and his hit fragrance, "Someday." (By contrast, girlfriend Selena Gomez made $5.5 million.) Bieber reached that big-baller level thanks to the record-breaking returns from "Never," which is the most successful concert-themed film in U.S. history, with more than $73 million earned to date.
Nipping at his heels was veteran teen starlet Miley Cyrus, whose haul was $48 million, almost all of it earned from touring.
Other big earners on the list include "Twilight" top wolf Taylor Lautner, who earned $8.5 million for the final two installments of the movie series, as well as $7.5 million for his upcoming starring debut in the action thriller "Abduction."
Nick Jonas had a very good year as well, with totals around $12.5 million, while "Two and a Half Men" star Angus T. Jones banked $7.8 million, thanks to a $300,000 per episode payday.
Jaden and Willow Smith made the list, with Jaden earning $5 million last year, $3 million of it from his starring role in "The Karate Kid," while sister Willow's music career rang up $4 million.
Acting sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning also did pretty well, with Dakota, 17, getting $4 million for "Breaking Dawn" and Elle, 13, taking home $1.5 million for "Super 8."

The 2011 VMA Pre-Show co-host brought her Scene to the PNC Bank Arts Center on Saturday night.



HOLMDEL, New Jersey — On Saturday night, Selena Gomez rocked the PNC Bank Arts Center, the latest stop on her We Own the Night Tour. While the crowd held up glow sticks, it was the rising teen star who lit up the amphitheater with her glittering outfits and upbeat energy.
The night started off with opener Christina Grimmie, the YouTube sensation managed by Selena's parents, who performed several cover songs that got the audience singing along, as well as a few originals. Next, Allstar Weekend brought their infectious pop-rock to the stage, and got the Jersey kids (or their parents) hyped with a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark."
But things really got started when Selena took the stage in a sparkly gold dress, and belted out "A Year Without Rain." Justin Bieber's better half kept the audience on their feet with several high-energy songs and quick outfit changes. After delivering "Love You Like a Love Song," she dropped down into the stage, reemerging moments later in a silver hooded top and bejeweled purple harem pants for "Spotlight."
Backed by her band, the Scene, Selena danced across the stage singing many fan favorites, including "Falling Down" and "My Dilemma."
As much as fans were eating up Gomez's original tunes, one highlight of the evening was her tribute to Britney Spears. Selena came out on stage in a blue scarf skirt reminiscent of Britney's "I'm a Slave 4 U" VMA performance outfit, and wowed the crowd with a medley of Spears' biggest hits. She kept the party atmosphere up for the rest of her set, and left the fans cheering for more, until she came out to sing "Who Says" as part of the encore. The night ended with a cover of the '70s classic "Magic," and Selena bringing out her opening acts for a final bow together.

Lauren Alaina’s Debut Album to Be Released October 11

Lauren Alaina will release her debut album, Wildflower, on Oct. 11. She let her fans in on news last Thursday evening through an email before announcing it nationwide during her visit to ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday morning. It will feature her first single, “Like My Mother Does.”
“I have always dreamed of making an album and I can’t believe it’s actually happening,” Lauren said. “It’s because of the fans who voted for me on American Idol that I am here, so I am dedicating this album to them. I hope they love it!”
For her first album, the Idol runner-up tried to include a song for any taste. “I feel like it has a flavor for everybody,” she said. “It’s a mixture of all different songs, so I hope it will appeal to all different kinds of people. There are fast songs for people who like up-tempos that you can dance to, and there are also tearjerkers for people who like slower ballads. I tried to get songs that are all a little different so that we could bring a fresh feel to each and every song.”
One of the songs Lauren chose for the album is “She’s a Wildflower,” written by Hillary Lindsey, Steven McEwan and Gordie Sampson. She connected with the song so strongly that it inspired her album title.
“Wildflower is the perfect name for my first album,” she said. “I would consider myself a wildflower because wildflowers are sweet, but then they have a little bit of spunk to them – they are ‘wildflowers.’ I like to have a lot of fun and I’m really sassy, so I feel like a wildflower would be a good description of who I am as a person.”
Because of being on the American Idols Live! Tour, Lauren recorded her album in several studios across the country with producer Byron Gallimore, including several sessions in Nashville.“I really enjoyed working with him,” Lauren said. “I was nervous at first because I thought it was going to be really intense and hard and maybe even intimidating, but he made me feel right at home. I consider him family now. It was a great learning experience for me and I had a lot of fun.”

Taylor Swift will soundtrack next 'True Blood' episode

In a shift away from the rock and blues sounds that normally soundtrack the Louisiana-based show, "True Blood" music supervisor Gary Calamar confirms to Rolling Stone that this Sunday's episode will feature Taylor Swift's "Haunted."
Calamar declined to reveal which scene the string-heavy track from Swift's Speak Now will play under, but described it as "a racy, sexy scene" and asked which character we thought would be most likely to listen to Swift.
"After last week's episode, Jessica and Jason," we replied.
"I'm going to leave it right there," Calamar said, adding it was the episode's writer who came up with the idea to use Swift's song.
After Swift's camp initially refused to allow it, the singer came forward and said she wanted it to happen.
As for the rest of the season, the last episode's title -- and, as per the "True Blood" format, also the track that will play over the closing credits -- is titled "And When I Die."
"That might be a hint that one of our characters is in trouble," Calamar says. "Vampires don't really die, so I'll say it's not a vampire. They won't face the true death. But some of our main characters do run into a little bad luck in the final episode."

"I wasn't myself for a year," said Selena. "I think that was really damaging. I felt like it was me who was always trying to be perfect for him. Everyone around me hated him but I didn't listen. I think I had to go through it because now I'm the strongest I've been."

American Idol Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery debuted the video for his hit, “I Love You This Big” Tuesday on CMT, as part of an extended 15-minute special with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from his video shoot.
Scotty McCreery shot the video with director Shane Drake while in Los Angeles for rehearsals of the American Idols Live tour. "He was the guy who shot all of our music videos for the Ford commercials for American Idol," Scotty says. "It was great because I already knew him and we had a good relationship."
The new Scotty McCreery video was shot in an area called Angels Point. "The location for the shoot was really cool," McCreery says. "If you looked one way, you could see Dodger Stadium, and if you looked another way, you could see downtown L.A."
As a way of saying thank you to the fans for helping him win Season Ten of American Idol, Scotty wants them to be the first to receive the exclusive details of his much-anticipated album release.

Demi Lovato Comeback Goes Strong with 'Shocking' Album

Many stars including Demi Lovato came out to the Do Something Awards in LA on Aug. 14. The show was hosted by Jane Lynch from "Glee," and celebrated people under 25 who help out their community and world around them through various social activities.




The event was full with many stars studded in glamor and beauty. Kim Kardashian dazzled in a demure, long and form fitting, white dress with silver detailing. Bieber wore a black and gold combo, with extra shimmer on the pants and shoes. However, it was reported that Demi Lovato was the star who shined the brightest when she performed her single--"Skyscraper," for the first time on stage.
"Miss @ddlovato sounded amazing!" a fan on Twitter posted. "Demi Lovato had a standing ovation at the end of her performance. The entire stadium was clapping and roaring. So proud of you @ddlovato. ♥," wrote another fan. The show will not air on television until Thursday, Aug. 18, but this performance was said to be a big deal.


Demi Lovato spent most of last year out of the limelight because personal issues.The Disney singer was reported to have been battling with her recent break-up with singer Joe Jonas, pressure from the media, and an eating disorder she had been struggling with for approximately six years. When Lovato allegedly punched a backup singer from her Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam tour, friends and family knew it was time to get the singer help. She spent some time in rehab to work on those issues privately.
Demi Lovato's single "Skyscraper" has been an encouragement to all people. Selena Gomez even tweeted: "SO, SO proud of Demi Lovato, Skyscraper. Incredible, beautiful and so inspiring." The empowering ballad is truly moving.
Beyond the words you can sense a transparent, vulnerable, and fragile Lovato expressing her heart especially during the chorus-- "You can take everything I have/ You can break everything I am/ Like I'm made of glass, like I'm made of paper/ Go on and try and tear me down/ I will be rising from the ground like a skyscraper."
"This song is so special to me because it's inspired by my journey and the struggles that I've dealt with this past year," Lovato said in a recent interview with seventeen.com. "I hope people are able to relate to it and realize that they are able to rise above and overcome any obstacle, no matter the circumstances, and shine like a skyscraper."
Ryan Tedder of "OneRepublic" who collaborated on a track with Lovato claimed that her comeback album, "Unbroken," will "shock everybody." "Demi blew me out of the water vocally!" He said at the Do Something awards. "I had no idea how good her voice is. She's one of the best singers I've ever worked with. Literally, that good...I mean, she's a Kelly Clarkson-level vocalist. And Kelly has a set of pipes."
Tedder explains that the track he co-wrote and produced for Demi--"Who's That?" is different from "Skyscraper." "I think everybody wanted to hear her talk about that, and this is basically flipping it 180, saying, 'Oh, by the way, I'm still also just young and want to have fun.' There's even like a little rap feature on it."
Overall, the album is said to be fun and very impressive. "She's got a couple features on this album, one in particular that is going to shock everybody. I was like, 'How did you get this person? They're impossible to get and you got them!'" Tedder added.
Fans are very excited that Lovato has a bright outlook on life and is not allowing anything to hold her down. Her comeback is on to a great start!
"I am still on a personal journey dealing with my own issues each and every day, but the best advice I can give to anyone going through a rough patch is to never be afraid to ask for help."

Selena Gomez is using her tour time well. She used some of her time in Illinois at a local K-Mart for a meet and greet. She took the time out to meet, greet and sign a few things for some of her fans. Best part of all somebody was able to film this big moment in her career. You will find the video of it at the bottom of this post.
Selena has not done too many meet and greets, but she has done a few for her fashion line Dream Out Loud. But she seems to be making the most out of her tour to max out her time with meet and greets. As far as we know, this was the first meet and greet she had for Dream Out Loud on this tour. Hopefully she will have more now that we know the turn was so great. Or at least she could have more meet and greets for fans of her music.
I do wonder when she will slow down for a bit? Ever since last year she has been on a non-stop train and she barely has taken any time off. Even her boyfriend Justin Bieber is taking this next album a bit slower with a break before it. It would do her health and her mind some good. Then she could really plan where she wants to take her career next. Not that she needs that, but I am sure she has goals she wants to meet. It just seems unhealthy for her to stay on this path without any time off for more than a couple of days. What do you guys think?

Widely known for his singing and good looks, Justin Bieber won a Do Something Award on Aug. 14, in Los Angeles at the Do Something Awards.
The singing sensation, who attended sans Selena Gomez, won his award in the ‘Do Something Music Artist’ category. He was up against Nick Jonas, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Linkin Park, Will.i.am and the Black Eyed Peas. The 17 year-old beat out these philanthropic artists for his work in making Public Service Announcements for bullying and his ‘don’t text and drive’ campaign. He even gives part of his income to charities, such as ‘Pencils for Promise,’ which was recognized at the awards.
Formerly called the BRICK Awards, the awards have celebrated people for 17 years and honored them for their work in doing something special for communities. It especially recognizes young people and encourages others to follow in the footsteps of the youth who volunteer and help others.
Other award winners included actress Olivia Wilde and soccer player David Beckham. Glee star, Jane Lynch, hosted the awards for the second consecutive year.
Each year, five young people are awarded with a $10,000 community grant for the differences they make in communities. One of the five also receives a grand prize of $100,000 for the charity of their choice.

Just days after it was announced that Cheryl Cole is in talks to appear in "What to Expect When You're Expecting," there are more rumors that she may be up for a cameo in "Glee!" But do the producers really want her, or are they just agreeing to get Justin Bieber on the show?



Earlier this year, Justin Bieber said that he would only take a guest role in "Glee" if Cheryl Cole is given a cameo role too. Bieber said, "I am going to tell the producers that it must be in the agreement that Cheryl gets a part in the show as well."
What a sweet boy. He expressed an interest in working with Cheryl Cole on other projects too, in the hopes of helping her make her break in the U.S. But back to "Glee." Do the producers want Cheryl, or do they want Justin and have to take Cheryl to make him happy?



History shows that the "Glee" producers know what viewers want, and right now, everyone wants a piece of Justin Bieber. In spite of Cheryl Cole being sacked from the "X Factor," there is still great interest in her. However nice it is of Justin to put in a good word for her, she is a hot enough property all by herself.

Generous country darlin' Taylor Swift knows how to give back to all those people who make her tour possible. "We usually take everyone on a vacation, like everybody, every single person on the tour, band, dancers, crew," Taylor told 'The Kyle & Jackie O Show' on 2Day FM yesterday.



"We usually pick somewhere beautiful and tropical. We haven't started planning it yet, because the tour is only halfway done," she continued. "It's really wonderful to take everyone on a trip."



The young singer puts on a spectacular show with acrobats, ballet dancers, ukelele numbers and rainstorms of confetti -- so, naturally, she needs some spectacular help. As immortalized in her brand new video 'Sparks Fly,' her sold-out world tour Speak Now has the star switching costumes nine times a night.



"I have three people that help me change clothes. I have to change clothes in under 30 seconds every single time," she explains. "It's crazy, because I'm usually going from a little dress to two dresses stacked on top of each other with a ball gown on top, different shoes changes, so there's somebody taking off my shoes the same time somebody is putting a dress over my head, the same time somebody is changing my hair."



Now that the golden-locked four-time Grammy winner has extended her tour into 2012 to hit up Australia and New Zealand, her hard-working crew will have something to keep 'em going. Wouldn't you love to join Taylor's concert troops?

Hundreds of young fans of Selena Gomez were thrilled to meet the young singer and actress.
Gomez took a break from her concert tour to meet fans at a Kmart in northwest suburban Norridge. She signed posters promoting her new Dream Out Loud fall outfits, and talked about what it's like for her to meet fans.
"It's very sweet, and it's a very good feeling, very humbling feeling, 'cause when you don't expect it, it makes it that much better. So, I get to do what I love, and I get to tour and share my music, and meet the people that let me do that every day," Gomez said.
Gomez did not talk about her reported boyfriend Justin Bieber, but she did mention plans to resume her world tour and make movies.

'American Idol's Scotty McCreery: 'I'm going back to school after album'

American Idol winner Scotty McCreery has said that he will be going back to school following the release of his debut album.



The country star announced this week that his first record will be called Clear As Day and will be released on October 4.



Speaking on Good Morning America today, he said: "We've been recording non-stop since the finale and I'm very proud of it."



When asked if a tour could follow, he replied: "After the album I'm going back to school. It's my senior year and I'm not going to miss out on those memories... I'll still be working."



McCreery announced his debut album details in an email to subscribers of his mailing list on Thursday, saying that he wanted to pick songs that related to him but that he knew his fans would enjoy.



He said: "Clear As Day is definitely country and it's definitely me. It has some old country influences and elements, but it also has a contemporary feel with fun up-tempo songs. It's a good mixture."



'I Love You This Big', the first single from Clear As Day, made country music history on its release when it became the highest-charting debut for a new artist in more than two decades. It entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at number 32.



McCreery was on Good Morning America today alongside his fellow American Idol finalists for the program's latest Summer Concert Series performance.



He can also be seen on the American Idols Live! tour alongside the rest of season ten's Top 11 finalists which runs through September.

In the crazy entertainment industry, surrounding oneself with quality girlfriends is a must — and Swift has become like family to Gomez and Stone, which is the upside of fame. We can only imagine what their hangout session are like. Something tells us that they are probably borrowing each other’s clothing and accessories, since all three have enviable closets, no doubt.
Swift said, “My friends are amazing and I’m so thankful to have them, [but] the ones that are like sisters to me are Selena Gomez and Emma Stone.” The sisterly bonds between Swift and her pals run so deep that they pretty much know what she is thinking at any given time. Swift admitted, “They can predict my thoughts; I’ve known them for so long it’s really cool to have friends that are that close.” Many of her fans have wondered what it’s like to be inside Swift’s head, but it’s her girlfriends who are actually that in tune with her. Must be nice!
Swift has spoken about how she and Gomez crashed a college football game one weekend, while trying to create a normal co-ed experience for themselves, despite being rich, famous and beautiful stand-out-in-a-crowd pop stars.
You know, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine Swift, Gomez and Stone in their own sitcom. They’re all stunning and as funny as they are beautiful. Each of them is a member of one of three major hair color groups — blonde, brunette and red — so they have all the makings of a prime time hit. The premise could be that they can read each other’s minds. Quick, somebody call a network!

Driving for Taylor Swift gets 6 Metro cops suspended

It was a lucrative gig for a handful of Metro police officers: Follow Taylor Swift all day and shuttle her security team around Nashville.

But that off-duty job led to six officers being suspended for breaking the department’s rules on outside employment.

Officers Melvin Brown III, Mike Clark, Milton Elrod, Thomas Rollins and Sgt. Donald Long were suspended for 10 days and Sgt. Daniel Walz was suspended for 12 days for working the off-duty job after top brass denied them permission to do so.

All of the officers admitted they broke department policies and accepted responsibility for their actions, according to the department’s internal investigation.

“This matter concerns doing something they were told they couldn’t do,” said police spokesman Don Aaron.

Elrod, who recently retired from the department after 27 years, said the officers got approval at first, but top brass later rejected it. He said they continued doing the job hoping supervisors wouldn’t find out. The other officers couldn’t be reached for comment.

Firm was unaware

The company that hired the officers to help with Swift’s security, Firefly Entertainment, was unaware of the approval problems, said spokeswoman Paula Erickson.

“As soon as Firefly was made aware that there was a problem, they stopped using these officers immediately,” she said.

The job was simple: Drive Swift’s security team around town as needed. The pay was good as well, $35 an hour at first, then $30 an hour.

“We all needed money; it was easy money,” Elrod told internal investigators.

The officers weren’t providing security services, weren’t carrying their firearms and didn’t use Metro computers to do background checks, in spite of the anonymous complaint that led to Metro’s internal investigation. Most worked fewer than 20 days, with shifts ranging from two or three hours to a 12-hour day. Much of it entailed waiting around for Swift and her entourage to go somewhere, gassing up the vehicles and sometimes running errands to Swift’s parents house in Sumner County.

The officers sought approval for the driving job, but their request was rejected by superiors who wanted more information. According to the internal investigation, the officers worked the details anyway. Several said that they or their families were having money trouble.

Scotty McCreery Has a Lot to Learn About Lauren Alaina

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina joined K102 in Minneapolis, Minn. for an interview and impromptu round of ‘The Dating Game’ last week. No, the tourmates aren’t actually an item — and judging from how McCreery did on Lauren Alaina trivia, he’s going to have to some explaining to do before she even considers the idea.
Sure, Alaina’s questions were a bit easier that McCreery’s: “What town is Scotty from?” compared to “What is Lauren’s blood type?” But after the K102 Wakeup Crew finished with their questions, Alaina began testing her fellow ‘American Idol’ contestant. In the video below, she leans in and asks, “Scotty, what’s my birthday?”
The long silence and guilty expression on the 17-year-old’s face lets viewers know he’s busted. “I wouldn’t know anybody’s birthday on tour. Is it in June? April?” he asks. “No!” Alaina responds. “Is yours October 9?” It is.
“Scotty what color are my eyes?” Again, McCreery pauses before coming back with “They’re either brown or blue, they have to be.” Is he asking or begging?
“What’s my favorite color?” the zebra pattern clad singer asks. “Well, your favorite design is zebra.”
Finally the Wakeup Crew asks one more question of McCreery: “If she were a tree, what kind of tree would she be?” A strange question indeed, but the ‘I Love You This Big’ singer’s answer was even stranger.
“A dogwood?”
The American Idols Live Tour is in Detroit tonight, before heading to Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday.

They include Victorious star Ariana Grande is on the list, which shouldn’t surprise many. The list has mostly 90s stars, but the real shocker is how a co-star of Victorious. You would think that Victoria Justice or Miranda Cosgrove. But I have noticed just how much a tweeter Ariana is, so that is likely why she is in the list. I am also surprised that Miley is not higher up in the list. She made number 4 on the list. I guess she does not tweet as much as she used to anymore or maybe other stars just enjoy tweeting more often. Miley’s tweets alone typically become topics to talk about.with your friends for gossip

Who do you think should be in the list? I am not sure, but I do question the order they wrote it in. Miley seems to have a lot of followers, and that would mean she is a shoe in, or at least that is how I view this. I would love to see a view other actresses who may not be with Disney. I think the list needs to have diversity in terms of networks, which it does not have. Do you think it is rigged to support mostly Disney stars in general?

The Grammy winner has just picked up yet more accolades at the Teen Choice Awards but she doesn’t appear to be getting any better at receiving them.
“I go to pieces every time,” says Taylor.
“Winning is something I have never been very good at and I never expect it. That’s why I look so shocked every time — because I genuinely am!”
Swift recently admitted she hates light switches.
“I can never seem to figure out the light switches in hotel rooms,” she said.
“I am constantly in different countries where there is different light switch protocol. You are in these rooms looking for light switches and you just can’t find them. It is just so hard!”

Gomez, Bieber win Teen Choice awards

Selena Gomez conjured five wins at the Teen Choice Awards - one more than boyfriend Justin Bieber.

The star of Wizards of Waverly Place was selected as choice TV actress, female hottie and music group with her band The Scene.

Gomez and her ensemble were also awarded the choice single trophy for Who Says and love song for Love You Like a Love Song, which the 19-year-old actress-singer performed at Sunday's freewheeling fan-favourite ceremony.

"This is for all of you guys," Gomez told the screeching crowd. "This isn't mine."

Bieber, Gomez's 17-year-old actor-singer boyfriend, picked up four surfboard-shaped trophies as choice male music artist, male hottie, twit and TV villain for his CSI guest starring role.

Other multiple winners included Glee, The Vampire Diaries, The Twilight Saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Swift.

"I feel like it's been a long time since I was a teenager, like, two years," Swift joked.

Swift tied Gomez with five awards: choice female music artist, country female artist, female red carpet fashion icon, country single for Mean and break-up song for Back to December.

The 21-year-old crooner was also honoured for her contributions to entertainment with the Ultimate Choice Award, the show's version of a lifetime achievement award.

The Big Bang Theory leading lady Kaley Cuoco hosted the 13th annual extravaganza at Universal Studios Hollywood's Gibson Amphitheatre.

Between dispensing awards like candy, Cuoco battled Chuck star Zachary Levi in table tennis, danced alongside America's Best Dance Crew winners Poreotix and jokingly quizzed teenagers about current affairs.

There were moments of seriousness amid the silliness.

Sean Kingston made his first live televised appearance since recovering from injuries he suffered after crashing a watercraft into a Miami Beach bridge in May.

Demi Lovato, who entered a treatment facility last November to deal with "emotional and physical issues", was on hand to accept two awards.

"You guys are what got me through this last year," she told the audience.

Other winners who picked up surfboard-shaped trophies included Cameron Diaz as choice movie comedy actress for Bad Teacher, Ellen DeGeneres as choice comedian and Ashton Kutcher as choice romantic comedy movie actor for No Strings Attached.

Before leading the crowd in a singalong of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, Kutcher provided some topical advice.

"Don't ever charge anything on a credit card if you don't already have the money in the bank to pay for it," he said.

The ceremony ended with a tribute to the Harry Potter film franchise.

The final two installments apparently bewitched online voters, winning such categories as choice sci-fi/fantasy movie, liplock, villain for Tom Felton and summer movie star for both Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe, who accepted his surfboard via satellite from New York.
