Rebecca Black may have become more popular on YouTube with her "Friday" auto-tuned viral hit. But the "Never Say Never" teen heart throb, aka Selena Gomez's beau, is holding a commanding presence on Twitter.
The Canadian pop singing sensation took a break from the addictive social media site just a week ago, and fans were dismal that he was following in the path of Miley Cyrus, who defected.
But just like Cyrus, Justin Bieber returned to throngs of fans who were relieved the break-up didn't last long.
And when he did, over 9 million Twitter beliebers showered him with some follow love, according to OK Magazine.
The heart throb responded in kind by tweeting, “9 MILLION!!! I LOVE YOU PEOPLE!!! #9millionbiebers” and “Bieber Gone Wild." One must admit; it's pretty impressive.
Perhaps going on a tiny hiatus is the new strategy celebs use in order to drive up the dormant follow numbers -- sort of similar to the death rumors on the Internet. It’s just a thought.
Once the news got out that Justin Bieber had returned to tweeting, hours later he surpassed the 9M mark. Currently, he is a rock's-throw from taking away the top spot from Lady Gaga.
With no sign of slowing down any time soon, the mega-pop star could take the number of followers into the “Twittersphere!” Certainly it helps that he’s made the “TIME Most Influential 2011” list.
